The 4 Best Verses To Pray Over Your Pregnancy

Pregnancy has taught me a ton about myself and body and the Father but it has also taught me how easy it can be to fret and worry about all the things that could possibly go wrong. I am not generally a worrier. I tend to take life in stride. Motherhood has for sure challenged that though.

Whether you’ve had a challenging journey leading up to pregnancy or not, trust me, there is plenty to worry about. The good news is we don’t have to! We can resist the fear and actually enjoy pregnancy!

Today I wanted to compile some of the verses that have been helping me through this pregnancy. Just in case you are new to praying scripture I will also share examples on how I would pray the verse over my pregnancy and unborn baby.

10 Scriptures To Help You Survive The Storms Of Life

I try my best to provide content that reminds you how loved you are and how valuable you are to the Father. I strive to provide encouragement to chase your dreams and to believe God for big and bold things. I want you to be kind to yourself and others because you are overwhelmed by how kind God is towards you.

But I also want you prepared and equipped for when life gets tough because life will get tough. Stormy seasons of life are inevitable. Jesus even warned us in John 16:33 that trouble will find us in this life. He didn't leave it there though. That warning is actually sandwiched between promises that He has already overcome and that He is with us.

Today we are going to look at some awesome verses for surviving the storms we find ourselves in. These are my favorite kind of posts to write because I just get to pack them full of scripture.

How To Survive Life's Storms | What the Bible Has To Say About Storms

There is a storm blowing in right now as I am writing this. The clouds have gone all dark and gray, and there’s a quietness in the air. Here is a random fact about me. I love storms!

Thunderstorms just quiet my soul and remind me of the power that our God possesses. Scripture tells us there this crazy lightning & thunderstorm display happening around His throne. I love that. Storms make me think of Heaven.

Now I know storms can quickly become scary. They can go from your average thunderstorm to something very destructive very quickly. These types of storms remind me of life. Life is full of ups and downs. There are moments where being joyful is so effortless it just pours from us. Then there are times where we find ourselves in a stormy season. Thankfully the Bible has a lot to say about storms.

How To Break Free From The Grip Of Shame

I was recently offered an upgrade on a flight I was taking when I went to check in. I was eligible to upgrade to first class for around how much it was going to cost me to check the two bags I needed to get home with me.

Being 7+ months pregnant the idea of a big plush comfy seat and extra drinks and snacks was very appealing. Plus it would cut my time in security down substantially which would be a blessing because standing for long periods of time these days is torture, so we did it!

This was my first time flying first class and I was pretty excited. However, once I got settled in my seat, people from the main cabin began to file in. It was then I heard that old familiar voice in the back of my mind. It whispered things like, “you are a phony,” “you shouldn’t be here,” and “people are going to notice that you don’t belong here.”

You probably know that voice as well. That is the voice of shame. Shame tells you everything you are not, and it loves to lie and embellish.

How God Feels About Your Weird Phase

Today I wanted to share something close to my heart lately. I want to talk about weird phases. Ever said something like, “I don’t know…I’m just going through a weird phase…?”

I think we all have at some point.

Our lives are marked by tons of “weird” phases. I feel like the queen of coping mechanisms. Some of my memorable (and shareable) ones include:

  • The summer in high school where I only wore miniskirts every day for months.
  • The time I became obsessed with mobile gaming. All free moments…and even some that weren’t free were sacrificed to the great mobile games.
  • The season I decided I was never wearing jeans again.
  • The year I allowed my husband's opinions and approval to define me.

I could literally go on all day but I'll spare you.

These seasons of weirdness can look like anything and a lot of times they can come with a bit of shame. So today lets look at how God feels about your weird phase.

God Is Not Mad At You & Here's Why

The idea that God is this big angry guy in the sky dishing out judgment and cancer is a common one. Maybe you had a hot head for a parent, or maybe your Sunday school teacher was the hail and brimstone type.

There’s just something about a love that claims to know no bounds and be wholly unconditional that tends to freak us out. We don’t see ourselves as deserving of such a love. We get confused, and we think that God will treat us how we treat us.

The truth is God is not mad at you and He does not treat us how we tend to treat us. He doesn’t treat the way we deserve and here is why.

What To Do When God Seems Silent

Here we are a quarter into the fresh new year and I wanted to offer some encouragement to you my friend from a place that is all too familiar to us all.

In my experience, this is around the time all our hopes and dreams for the year ahead can tend to fade as we realize the only thing that’s changed is the last digit in the date.

New year. Same issues.

The good news is that God’s character, faithfulness, love, and position legitimately never change.

So today I want to talk about seasons where that doesn’t feel true. What do we do when God seems silent or far away?

Here are three tips for navigating through those challenging seasons.
