Psalm 36:5-7

'Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds. Isaiah 54:10

1 John 4:9-10

His love is inexhaustible

God’s unconditional love is so vast, so high, so deep there is no way our English language can begin to scratch the surface of understanding it. His love must be experienced, and then it must be shared. It must be expressed, not just talked about. But how do you get to that place?

1 John 4:19

'We love because he first loved us. ' 1 John 4:19 ESV

John 13:34

'A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. ' John 13:34 ESV

Received then shared

Jesus made it very clear. His love must first be received, then shared. Similar

to a car having a gas tank so it can be filled to power the car, our heart is our “love tank” and must be filled to power us. Our hearts being full of God’s unconditional love changes the way we see and interact with people.

Romans 5:8

'but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. ' Romans 5:8 ESV

Ephesians 2:4-5

'But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ— by grace you have been saved— ' Ephesians 2:4-5 ESV

Psalm 86:15

'But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness. ' Psalm 86:15 ESV

Psalm 31:7

'I will rejoice and be glad in your steadfast love, because you have seen my affliction; you have known the distress of my soul, ' Psalm 31:7 ESV

Plant a love garden

Jesus said His Word is like a seed and must be planted in our hearts. If it is cared for, it will grow and produce good fruit, 100, 60, and 30 fold. (Mat 13:8).

Take Bible verses about God’s unconditional love and read them, study them, memorize them, talk about them. This is how you plant and nurture them. God will take care of the growth and the fruit.

1 John 3:1

'See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. ' 1 John 3:1 ESV

'And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. 'Ephesians 5:2 ESV

1 John 4:18

'There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. ' 1 John 4:18 ESV

Ephesians 3:17-19

'...so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith - that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have the strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. 'Ephesians 3:18-19 ESV

John 16:27

'for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God. 'John 16:27 ESV

Allow yourself to look into the Word of God and see yourself through the eyes of Jesus. There is only forgiveness and compassion from Him towards you. He sees you innocent. Let that burn into your soul and allow the Holy Spirit to help you see yourself this way. See yourself as the object of God’s unconditional love.

Take a good long look in the mirror. Look yourself dead in the eye. Really think about how Jesus sees and feels about you. Once you begin to believe this about yourself, you will, almost by accident, begin to see others this way. You will walk in more love and compasión than you can even imagine. You will talk differently to that difficult person when you believe in your heart they are loved unconditionally by God.

Galatians 2:20

'I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. ' Galatians 2:20 ESV

Zephaniah 3:17
